Homeschooling wrap up...

I can't believe its May already...

We almost have our school year done or should I say 2 grades done.  Lizzie busted butt to get through 4th and 5th grade this year.  And I am very proud of her!!!  It hasn't been easy but we have managed.

So we are charging into 6th grade.  I will be buying her books here in a couple weeks and I have been planning out some of it already.  We need to set our goals for next year but I hope to have a great summer.  I am so use to doing school now what will I do with all my time???

Christmas Time

As Christmas is fast approaching I have struggled with getting everything done....and why?  Does it really matter if I have all the cookie and candy choices each and every year.  If it is not fun is it worth it???  This is not what this season is all about.

This year Lizzie and myself have been doing an Advent calender.  I love the time we spend doing it and realize how much I still have to learn about the Bible but it has put some things in perspective.  I hope to use this Christmas season as a jumping point of my learning and challenge myself to keep learning and growing in Christ.  It really isn't about the cookies or presents...

Fall....

Its been a long long time....  So much has changed.

Jeff and I are doing great, not much really changes after saying "I do".  Its just now official!!!

We decided to homeschool Lizzie again.  Most of the time that goes pretty well, there are just times that I get very stressed about getting everything done.  She is doing awesome in her schooling and really wants to get through 4th and 5th grade levels this year so she can be back where she was to be before I put her in public school the first time.

We closed up the camp site last weekend.  It seemed like a long season and I am ready for a break.  But I still look forward to next season all at the same time.

My stitching retreat is right around the corner and I really need this upcoming time away for things.  Just time to sit with the girls, chat, and stitch.

I think that brings everything up to date for now.  I really want to get better about blogging.....

Married.....

I can't believe I haven't posted on here....

My wedding was so amazing!!!  I loved every part of it.  If something went wrong I didn't even know about it.  I felt beautiful!!!  And the day was perfect.  If you are reading this and want to see pictures of our day check out our website.... jjosborn.shutterfly.com

Life after the wedding...  Everyone seems to ask so is anything different?  No not at all...  Jeff is the same man I fell in love with...we still have our disagreements and we still make up.  But that is one of the big things I love about him.  He sticks through it....  Is everything perfect?  Heck no....but we make the best of everything.

SCARED!!!!

okay ...I know this will sound stupids but I have had a rough day and it is about becoming a stepmom. We just told the boys today about the upcoming wedding because we didn't want them to have to hear Jeff's ex talk a bunch of shit to them or send them to us with mohawks and blue hair. We have them for our 6 weeks and she gets them the everyother weekend thing.

Anyway the boys were cool with it just had questions about the wedding. But one of our neighbors told me I needed to talk to each of the boys letting them know nothing was really changing...just that now I would be married to daddy and be thier step mom...but they could call me Janet, step mom, whatever they wanted just nothing mean.... So I spoke with the youngest (7 yrs old) first and he pops up and says that mommy says Lizzie is a terrible kid, that Janet is irresponsible and that she just hates Jeff. I am heart broken.....

We never talk bad about her in front of the kids....and I would so love to some times. But I know that I have to be the better person. She has told these boys her and dadddy are not together because of me and I didn't even know him when they split up. He was already living on his own when I met him. But it is never going to matter is it??? She is always going to talk bad about me and there is nothing I can do.

It has really hit me hard tonight...I don't take well to people not liking me and to attack my daughter that she knows nothing about are you kidding me. I can say something to Jeff but he really won't say anything because he keeps the peace with her even when she crosses the line. I just don't know what to do. I don't want it to upset me but it does.

So to sum this up I am starting to get scared of being a Step Mom I never really thought much about it until today....

Change is plans maybe????

Well the school system my daughter goes to has decided to close my daughters school. The upsetting thing is the school she would feed into has not past ISTEP in a few years besides they have a lot of bullying problems. Sooo.... it looks like we may be going back to homeschooling her again.

When Lizzie was 3 yrs old I started doing homeschool with preschool stuff to try and see if we could do it....at that time the reason for doing this was because I was a single mom working 2nd shift and I didn't want to loss out on raising my daughter. We did that until Fall of 2008...at that time I put her in public schooling because I had tried 4 different programs and I couldn't get her to read. So she has gone to public school for 3 years now. And for the last 1 1/2 years she has begged me to homeschool her again. But I have to be honest I didn't miss the fights with her about doing her homeschool....

Fast forward to now.....I have been doing my research again to homeschool her and there is so much out there. I get very excited about teaching her again. I still work 2nd shift so I don't get to see her but for 1 hour in the morning before putting her on the bus. So tomorrow we goto a homeschool convention here in Fort Wayne. I am just looking to see whats out there....

And I know the first question usually is socialization.....just to head that off Lizzie is in no way a skirt hugging girl....she is very outgoing dance, soccer, girl scouts and I am lucky to live in a community that has a hugh homeschool group that does field trips and P.E. classes at our college.

I'm Engaged

Jeff and I have been dating for about 3 years and this last weekend he asked me to marry him...

My life has had so may turns, hills, and valley's and it has been an amazing ride so far. It is exciting to think about moving into this next step. To feel so secure in my relationship knowing that he is the "one".

Wedding plans are in full swing. The date is set for July 9th, 2011. We will have everything at Blue Lake Campgrounds. Things are going to be very simple and casual. Already so may details are coming together....I have my dress!!!!

Hopefully I can keep up on clogging...

Staycation is over

I had a very nice time off work. I did get a bit of stitching done and I am very happy with my progress.

The boys were here this weekend and were so happy to be back at the house. Lizzie had a friend over so everyone was entertained. Jeff even spend most of the weekend working on our spook house.

All in all it was a nice little break!!!

Getting ready for my Staycation...

I am getting ready to take a few days off work and looking forward to staying home. Making plans on what to do and eat. Planning out my menu and a day trip or two. We get the boys this weekend so with any luck pumpkins will be purchased and carved by the kids. Lizzie has a chili supper musical to go to... so though my original plans are to just stitch I will have some other things to do also.

I still have to get blankets made for the boys, get the house picked up, and get my grocery shopping done. If everything goes as planned I will still get my stitching fix in and have a great time off. I look forward to reporting in on my wonderful staycation....

Challenge is Over

Well, my 30 day challenge is over.... I was able to learn a bit about myself and reflect on where I am and where I want to be. Some of the assignments were tough for me to look at but insightful none the less. I hope to grow as a person and become a better me. I want to be more patient and understanding of people....

So I can say it was a success and family & friends watch me grow...love ya

Volunteering.....

Those that know me know I love to champion Coummity Service.... I would to see more people doing volunteering. Well this year my dear sister is going back to college (I am so proud of you Annette) anyway because of that she has asked parents in her Brownie troop to step up and help with the troop more.

I told her last week that I would do the Community Service section of the troop. I do have some great ideas but need more...the girls are in the age range of 8-10 years old.

Some of my ideas are soup kitchen

Live A Better Life in 30 Days Challenge

I started this challenge because I thought what the heck I could learn a thing or two.....well let me tell you our first day assignment was enlightening (Sept 1st). We did this exercise called "My Life Wheel" and it has you put a value on 10 different aspects of your life. This was an amazing way to get a feel about how I rate my life and where I want to work on things. I look forward to getting my other assignments, though I am afraid of getting behind this weekend as I have problems being connected on the weekends at the lake. But I will push through and if I get behind I will.....

I hope to blog about the challenge but I am not very good about keeping up on it...besides I don't know if anyone even reads this thing....oh well its for me.

Things are settling in...

Now with Lizzie back in school things are starting to settle down a bit....

We are working on her helping with chores and getting our routine down as to our schedule. It sometimes is such a battle that it drives me CRAZY.

As much as I wanted to go back to school this semester it just wasn't in the cards for me. I have decided to work on making my life more calm and relaxed. Getting there will be a learning experience in itself. So to anyone reading this watch for some changes!!!

Loving this weather!!!

What can I say....I love it when the hot weather is on its way out and the fall weather is coming in. This is by far my favorite time of the year. Though I do love every season and find much to enjoy during there visit. I can't get over the cool crisp feel of fall....

Friday, August 6, 2010

Well today I ventured out with the kids and took them to the Colts Training camp. There was a lot of things to see and do. I wish we could have done more but the boys weren't into it. So we did a couple things.

Lizzie was able to see her dance teacher and get her autograph....she is a Colts Cheerleader!!!

And I was able to see Manning, Clark, and Addia out on the field practicing. I would have just like to see more of the practicing.... Oh well maybe next year it will be just a girls thing.

Vacation

Wow what a week....Went to the lakes for the whole week, we had the boys for most of it. I believe fun was had by all but a bit to much work for me. I really am in need of a RELAXING vacation. Oh well, we went to our first Tincaps game. I had a blast and can't wait to check out another one. Lizzie was crowned Queen of Bluelake Campgrounds along with her King Zach.

And we had tons of activities at the campground on the weekends going on. Tie-dying was a success and I think the results were great. The fireworks that the guys put on was a big hit. They are so proud of themselves but it kicked their a&&... Jeff and I came home on monday and slept for 11 hours. I did finally get my Harley ride in today before I headed into work. Now its back to the grind.....
